i wish to stop downloading all together because the idea of relying on my laptop for my music collection makes me feel quite uneasy. my laptop isn't exactly state of the art and if it crashes, my music will go. i like the idea of having an amazing music collection on cd as oposed to a computer, but don't like the idea of how expensive cd's are nowerdays. new music usually costs around eight to ten pounds and goes down in price around three months after its release. i don't have that kind of money to spend on twelve or so songs, but recently exeter has got a new music shop called fopp. i love this shop so much, cd's ranging from three to ten pounds, books for two pounds, music dvds, vinyls and posters. most things music related. to give a better idea- hmv but the primark version. my cd collection is nothing special, about forty or so albums, but the list of cd's i wish to buy is nearing the two hundered mark. i have a shelf unit in my room and i would love to fill it with music and live dvds. for such a huge music fan i think i should start supporting my favourite artists more. we pay lots for gig tickets so i dont understand why some singers are getting in a huff about illegal downloads. they insist they make music because it's what they love but then cause a scene when they realise their huge income is slowly decreasing. fame as gone to peoples heads and they need to come back down to the real world and help out with fans. what radiohead did was amazing- 'buy our album for how much you think its worth', you could easily take advantage of this and just give one penny and understandably not every artists is willing to do so. but singers who have more money than they will ever need such as madonna, brintey and prince should give it go. not as a publicity stunt, but an act to show fans that they care and really do make music because they love it and not for the money.
