my gran taught me how to knit yesterday, finally. i've wanted to do it for ages so when ever i want a scarf or jumper or whatever, i can just whip one up exactly how i want it.
she said i picked it up quite quickly and that i'm pretty fast for someone who had been knitting for half an hour. i still drop stitches and go in the stitch with the needles the wrong way sometimes and it looks quite un-neat but i'll get better with time.
i think she said was going to the wool shop today, she said she would get me some reds, blues and yellows so i can knit some cool scarfs. i'm starting on a small scale at the moment; making my cousin a scarf so it only has to be small. i've done about five or six inches of it so far, it's quite wonkey but it's my first.
i'm going to knit a scarf for the winter over summer. it'll take me ages because i'm a beginer, so by the time winter is here i would have finished it. atleast now i can pick the exact colour, thickness, wool, stitch type and length.
i'm so happy, i've wanted to knit for months, probably a few years. and now i can!
