Blur - No Distance Left To Run DVD (2010) * * * * *
I haven't blogged for to long and i apologise in advance. I believe not many people read this anyway and i would be shocked to hear if every single one of my followers actually read every single one of my blog posts. so I haven't blogged in a while for a few reasons. first being that it's been mock exam week and last week of half term and I just couldn't be bothered at all, secondly is that i either have nothing interesting to make a post about or i forget what i was going to tell you guys about and the last reason is that my laptop has decided to be a twat lately and be as slow as humanly possible and all my sound is distorted so i've been angry at my itunes and all sorts and blogging just hasn't been on mylist of things to do. and ofcourse, seeing as it's half term i've been hanging with friends and what not.
I ordered the new Blur DVD last Thursday because it came out on Monday i thought if i pre-ordered it then it would come pretty quickly. i was wrong. I only got it today. It would have been easier to just pop to the shop to buy it.
I knew i wouldn't be disapointed because it's Blur and Blur are gods in my eyes. So i knew it would be worth the wait but i didn't think it would be as good as it was. I recommend this for any Blur fan. The documentary is recorded over the summer weeks preparing for secret gigs, glastonbury and hyde park, it includes interviews and pictures and is generally quite interesting. It covers why they split, why they got back together, feelings when Graham left, album recordings and tracks, loads of stuff. It lets you understand the band more i suppose. There are a few memorable quotes from Graham and Alex about mods and crunchie bars that are quite amusing. How it's been editted and put together is really nice aswell, everything is clear and you're never confused. if they start talking about something personal, you're shown pictures to illustrate it or videos of the gig they're describing. it's all very well done.
The second disc holds the first of the Hyde Park gigs. This just shows the full gig but is equally as entertaining as the documentary. Both discs are a little jumpy in places but that could just be my dvd player. I've had to go to 'menu' > 'chapters' a couple of times to get past the jumping but the included poster of the dvd cover makes up for that. It is bluetac'd proudly on the back of my door.

Blur are amazing. Go buy this DVD.
