i have already cleared a space on my wall for the 'Plastic Beach' poster that's going to come free with the new issue of NME on wednesday. This album is going to be huge. Plastic Beach is the new album from Gorillaz, released on March 8th. The first single 'Stylo' has got fans already wanting more after being leaked onto the internet unintentionally and then picked up by radio stations when offically released. Murdoc Niccals wrote on his twitter page:
"A leak! A leak! Plastic Beach has sprung a leak! One of those Russian pirates has put a bullet hole in my island! My single’s leaked! STYLO!"
Ofcourse this album will be huge, it's Gorillaz, you can't expect anything less than a massive success for these boys. you can't fault the name, you can't fault the album artwork and you certainly can't fault 'Stylo'. Unlikely characters feature on this record, including Snoop Dogg and the Clash pairing Mick Jones and Paul Simonon. What started out as a side project for Damon Albarn has spirialed into a success machine, this experiment we call Gorillaz has only won four less awards than the original band of Damons, Blur. I'm eager to hear this album, i might even go and pre-order it right now.
