two chinese singers have been fined for miming at gigs. the fines have only been put into action recently, these two singers being the first to be fined for the offence. the issue was highlighted at the bejing olympic games with the miming incident there. admittedly, when i first read this i thought it was a little excessive, but then singers are meant to sing. that's what they do, so why should they be allowed to fake it and make money? it really annoys me when artists fake it and get their voice 'fixed' in the recording studio like the tings tings did. lordy, she sounds terrible live. and katy perry too. if you choose to be a singer then you should be able to sing and be confident to sing in front of crowds- you're going to get gigs. you can't lie to your fans like that, and i'm sure if no-one got their voice 'fixed' in the studio, we wouldn't have half of these annoying, mainstream, talentless pop stars- miley cyrus for example. her real voice is terrible, as is her recorded one. she even forgot the words to her own song on live television during the 'ant and dec saturday night takeaway'. at the end of the day, if you can't sing don't be a singer. it's the same story as 'i can't act, so i wont be an actor'. singers should be branded 'talented', not 'liars'.
