Erland & The Carnival.

After seeing these guys live and thinking they were for me, I bought the album and it is no disappointment. It's one of the best I've heard for a long time and there's not a bad track on it. This band are something different and deserve much more than they get. I'm fairly sure that if they got a little more publicity that they would actually be quite successful. I've only had my hands on this album for a few days and I would already go as far as to say it's one of my favourites.

The band was formed by Simon Tong (who has performed with the likes of Blur, The Verve, Gorillaz and The Good The Bad & The Queen), Erland Cooper and David Nock. The album was recorded at Damon Albarns Studio 13 and released in January this year. This debut is great and I hope the guys go on to make many, many more records.

My personal favourites are 'The Echoing Green', 'My Name Is Carnival' and 'The Derby Ram'
