i've got the news on the telly going in the background and it caught my attention when i unexpectedly heard 'london calling' by the clash. i was shocked to see that the royal mail have printed ten classic album covers on stamps.
i thought i would google it to check the list out, turns out it's actually quite impressive. the list can be seen here.
i was happy to see blur's parklife and ofcourse london calling on there. i'm into all that kind of merchandise, t-shirts and caps don't really do it for me. i'd be happy with a 'london calling' mug or some kind of teddy bear waving a 'parklife' flag of some sort.
the clash and blur are my two favourite bands, so ofcourse i'm going to get some. i wont use them though, i'll just blutac them while they're still on the cardboard to my wall with my gig tickets. i have no merchandise of any kind from either band, i've never seen them live because i'm too young and the bands were active to many years previous. i wasn't allowed to the blur hyde park gigs, i was so angry. so my first bit of 'my kind of merch' from both bands. sounds pretty good to me.
